That took long!

Well, look what our wonderful new President just did.  He thought it would be a wonderful idea (especially during these excellent economic conditions) to use tax payers' money to fund abortions around the world!  Way to go, Obama!

I love my Abby!

Yesterday, my parents took Elizabeth and Abby to "Santa's Workshop" at their lodge.  It was a little party where grandparents could take their grandchildren to see Santa, make crafts, and eat cookies.

When I explained to the girls what they were going to be doing Elizabeth got super excited.  Abby, however, had this troubled look on her face and you could see the wheels turning in her mind.  Then she said, "when Santa comes, I'm not going to sit on his lap or wave to him.  I'm only going to look at him, okay?"  I told her that was fine.

And when Santa came to the lodge, Abby kept her promise.  She didn't sit on his lap or wave to him.  She only looked at him from a distance.

NaBloPoMo #30

YES!!  This is it!!  My last entry for the National Blogging Month!!  I can't believe I actually made it because I ran out of things to blog about like 20 days ago.  Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed reading.  I can't say I'll be keeping up with my blog at this pace, but I'm going to try to blog more regularly.  Okay, I'm out!

NaBloPoMo #29

Last night, Matt and I watched the holiday edition of one of our favorite television shows, Monk.  It is kind of a silly show, but somehow several years ago, we watched an episode and were hooked.  If you haven't seen the show, it is basically about a great detective, Monk, who has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).  When you see the show a couple times you start to catch on to all his little idiosyncrasies.  For example, he has to use a wipe after he shakes someone's hand or he has to have everything be an even number.

Anyway, while I was watching this last night, I started wondering if I had any Monkish (OCD) behavior of my own.  Within a couple minutes I came up with several things I do that are pretty Monkish.  So here is a list of some my OCD behavior:

1.  I have to sleep with a fan on.  Always.  There is something about the white noise I cannot sleep without.

2.  I always fall asleep facing the bedroom door at night.  I have no idea why I do this.

3.  I always wash my face before I brush my teeth.

4.  I have to sleep holding a pillow.

5.  I hold one of my keys between my fingers when I walk through a parking lot by myself.

6.  I like to drink some kind of caffeine before I eat anything in the morning.

7.  I have to turn the front and back porch light on at night.

8.  I have to wear something on my feet with my pajamas, I can't walk around barefoot.

9.  I always make sure the house is vacuumed before I go to bed.

10.  I had to make sure there were ten things on my list before I ended the blog.

So, what are some of your Monkish behaviors?
